Behold one of the earliest surviving Buick cars, and the first Buick to be purchased on the west coast. The car was reportedly sold by none other than Charles Howard, Buick’s west-coast distributor who is now perhaps best known as the owner of the fabled racehorse, Seabiscuit. Howard bought the car back some years later and kept it in his family for 60 years. Howard’s grandson Alton inherited the car while living at Pebble Beach. He helped found the first Concours d’Elegance, and it is thought that this very car may have led the first Parade of Elegance in 1950.
