The Speed Sixes were the most successful racing Bentleys ever built, collecting trophies at LeMans, Brooklands, and numerous Grands Prix, propelled by their 4.5-liter straight-six engines. Sadly, the costs of developing larger engines and of expanding the factory proved too much for Bentley, which became insolvent in 1931. These three cars, each sporting “Bentley Drivers’ Club” plates and plaques indicating participation in various Mille Miglia and other tours, are still driven in the spirit of the original Bentley Boys.
