There was a day, before OnStar, the AAA auto club, cell phones, and roadside assistance, when owners were expected to maintain and repair their own vehicles, especially if they didn’t want to be stranded by the side of the road indefinitely. To make this possible, Bentley fitted its cars with an extensive tool kit, that included oil cans, spark plugs, and wrenches and special tools to fettle whatever might go wrong.
