Cars That Wear The Silver Star

“Even though we’ve come to expect each new model from Daimler-Benz to be the best thing of its kind, we still find ourselves knocked out by the performance, quality, comfort, and enlightened engineering concepts that flow together in the cars that wear the silver star.” So we said in May, 1966, and so, in one way or another, we’ve always maintained. Yet a Mercedes has never won a class in our poll, and we were both pleased and surprised to see it take the prestigious Luxury/Personal category. There may be cars more luxurious (Mercedes 600) and cars more personal, but the 250 and 300 Mercedes models combine both concepts masterfully.
