We don’t see how the VW could lose this category. Volkswagen sells almost twice as many Beetles a year as all the other imported economy cars combined, so they must be doing something right. Like having plenty of dealers, each with plenty of cars, plenty of mechanics, and plenty of efficient service. Our January, 1967 test found the VW 1500 as reliable as night and day, and as economical to operate as an Artesian well. Small wonder that our readers love VWs so well.
