We seem to go back and test a Corvette Sting Ray every year (there’s a test in this issue), but we do it as much for the pleasure of driving the car again as we do to keep you informed of detail refinements. The Corvette was America’s first sports car; and it still leads the way in American automotive engineering—the Corvette was the first American production car to feature four-wheel disc brakes. Although it isn’t a big- volume seller in Chevrolet Division’s line-up, the Corvette probably commands more enthusiasm and loyalty than any other GM model. Hence its third double victory in our poll, and its remarkable Best All-Around Car victory.
